TAMPERE, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Finland defeated Iceland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Tampere Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with Finnish midfielder Alexander Ring goal in the 8th minute.
The result put the Icelander second in Group I with 13 points. Finland is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Iceland will meet Ukraine at the Tampere Stadium on September 5, while Finland will face Kosovo.
