KHARKIV, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Ukraine defeated Turkey by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv.
Yarmolenko scored dual goals
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Yarmolenko ('18, '42).
The result put the Ukrainians second in Group I with 14 points. Turkey is fourth with 11 points. In their next game, Ukraine will meet third-placed Iceland at the Metalist Stadium on September 5, while Turkey will face Croatia.
