REYKJAVíK, Oct. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Iceland defeated Kosovo by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup qualifying game on Monday night at the Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavík.
Iceland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Gylfi Sigurðsson in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Icelanders further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Guðmundsson in the 68th minute.
Iceland secured their ticket to the World Cup finals. Kosovo is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group I
