BELFAST, Nov. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Northern Ireland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier tie on Thursday night at Windsor Park in Belfast.
Northern Ireland made the Swisss doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Swiss defender Ricardo Rodríguez on penalty in the 58th minute.
The second leg between Northern Ireland and Switzerland will be played on Sunday November 12, 2017 (kick-off: 18:00) in Basel.
