Würzburger Kickers players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Moroccan midfielder Valdet Rama in the 10th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by FC Nürnberg with a saving goal from FC Nürnberg forward Cedric Teuchert in the 80th minute.
