SIDON, Oct. 12, 2000 (AMP) — Lebanon 2000 : Iraq defeated Thailand by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Asian Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon.

The result put the Iraqi top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Iraq will meet Lebanon on October 15, while Thailand will face Iran.
