Borussia Dortmund players started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Aubameyang ('12) and Reus ('45). However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Paderborn with goals by Lukas Rupp ('60) and Mahir Sağlık ('81).
