CAIRO, Jan. 24, 2006 (AMP) — Egypt 2006 : Ivory Coast defeated Libya by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a AFCON group stage game on Tuesday afternoon.

The result put the Ivorians top of Group A with 6 points. Libya is bottom with no points. In their last game, Ivory Coast will meet second-placed Egypt on January 28, while Libya will face Morocco.
