Caribbean Cup 2017 Qualifiers : Puerto Rico beats Grenada in shoot out
ST. GEORGE'S, Jun. 1, 2016 (AMP) — USA 2017 (Qualifiers) : Puerto Rico defeated Grenada on penalties 4-3, after the match ended 3-3 in regulation time, in a qualifying game for the 2017 Caribbean Cup on Wednesday night at the Grenada National Stadium in St. George's.
Ramos scored dual goals
The score was still 3-3 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from John-Brown ('3, '27) and M. Phillip ('38) for Grenada and Ramos ('44 on penalty, '62) and Ortiz ('88) for Puerto Rico. The Puerto Ricans finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-3.
The result put the Puerto Ricans top of Group 1 with 3 points. In their last game, Puerto Rico will meet second-placed Antigua and Barbuda at the Grenada National Stadium on June 4, while Grenada will face Antigua and Barbuda.
