ENGLAND, Aug. 9, 2014 (AMP) — Championship: Middlesbrough FC won their first game of season against Birmingham City FC.
Middlesbrough dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Spanish defender Daniel Ayala in the 33rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Smoggies further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Garcia Martinez in the 66th minute.
