ENGLAND, Aug. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 2: After losing 4-2 to Ipswich Town on August 6, the Tykes returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Derby County this Saturday.
Barnsley dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by goalkeeper Scott Carson in the 11th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Tykes further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Mawson Alfie in the 47th minute.
Barnsley FC climbed to 13rd place with 3 points from 2 games, tie on points with Sheffield Wednesday FC, which has a game in hand.
