ENGLAND, Nov. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 17: 8 wins in a row for Newcastle. After their success against Norwich City, Rotherham United, Brentford, Barnsley, Ipswich Town, Preston and Cardiff City, the Magpies continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United this Sunday.

Dwight Gayle scored dual goals

Newcastle dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Dwight Gayle in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Magpies further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Gayle in the 54th minute.

Newcastle United remains in first place with 40 points from 17 games, a 5-point lead over runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
