Championship (Week 23) : Boro beats Sheffield Wednesday 2-1

ENGLAND, Dec. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 23: After losing 2-1 to Millwall on December 16, the Smoggies bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday had started off well by taking the lead in the 30th minute with a goal by Scottish midfielder Ross Wallace. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Smoggies nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Howson Jonny '71 on penalty and Shotton '83).

Middlesbrough FC climbed to 9th place with 35 points from 23 games, only one point behind Preston North End FC.
