USA beats Ecuador to advance to Copa América semifinals
SEATTLE, Jun. 16, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : The United States reached the semifinals of the 2016 Copa América with a 2-1 win against Ecuador (halftime: 1-0) on Thursday night at the CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
The United States dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Clint Dempsey in the 22nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Americans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Zardes in the 65th minute.
