Colombia beats Peru in shoot out to advance to Copa América semifinals
EAST RUTHERFORD, Jun. 17, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : Colombia reached the semifinals of the 2016 Copa América after defeating Peru 4-2 on penalties (after a 0-0 draw) on Friday night at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
The score was still nil-all at the end of the regulation game time and overtime. The Colombians finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-2.
