Chile beats Mexico to advance to Copa América semifinals
SANTA CLARA, Jun. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : Chile reached the semifinals of the 2016 Copa América with a 7-0 win against Mexico (halftime: 2-0) on Saturday night at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
Eduardo Vargas served up another goal feast
Chile dominated the first half thanks to goals from Puch ('16) and Vargas ('44). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Chilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Sánchez '49, Vargas '52, '57, '74 and Puch '88).
