Japan beats South Korea 2-1 to win 2013 East Asian Cup
SEOUL, Jul. 28, 2013 (AMP) — South Korea 2013 : Japan defeated South Korea by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a East Asian Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Sunday night at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
Yoichiro Kakitani scored dual goals
Japanese forward Yoichiro Kakitani opened the score in the 24th minute, before seeing South Korea catch up in the 33rd minute thanks to Yun Il-Lok. 1-1 at half time. The Japaneses eventually won the game in the second period with with another goal by Kakitani in stoppage time.
