Two goals for both sides in the first half, Mcglashan Jermaine ('20) and Cox Simon ('31) for Southend United, Richards Marc ('29) and O Toole John-joe ('44) for Northampton Town and none in the second.
Southend United FC climbed to 6th place with 50 points from 32 games, 2 points behind Bradford City AFC.
