Ligue 2 (Week 23) : Auxerre beats Valenciennes 2-1
FRANCE, Feb. 6, 2015 (AMP) — Ligue 2 / Match day 23: Two wins in a row for Auxerre. After their 3-0 win against Dijon on January 31, AJA continued their sensational form in the Ligue 2 with a 2-1 victory over Valenciennes this Friday.
Valenciennes had started off well by taking the lead in the 4th minute with a goal by Dutch forward Rydell Poepon. Trailing 1-0 at half time, AJA nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Mbombo '78 and Diarra '80).
AJ Auxerre climbed to 7th place with 35 points from 23 games, only one point behind Dijon FCO, which has a game in hand.
