MLS : Portland defeats Toronto 2-1
UNITED STATES, May. 1, 2016 (AMP) — MLS: After their 1-1 draw against New England on April 27, the Timbers returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC this Sunday.
Adi Fanendo opened the score in the 17th minute, before seeing Toronto FC catch up in the 40th minute thanks to Johnson Will. 1-1 at half time. The Timbers eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Valeri Diego in the 74th minute.
Portland Timbers climbed to 9th place with 12 points from 9 games, only one point behind Philadelphia Union, which has a game in hand.
