MLS : Portland defeats Orlando 3-0

UNITED STATES, Sep. 24, 2017 (AMP) — MLS: After losing 2-1 to Real Salt Lake on September 16, the Timbers returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Orlando City this Sunday.

Valeri Diego scored dual goals

Portland Timbers dominated the first half thanks to goals from Valeri Diego ('15 on penalty) and Mattocks Darren ('29). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Timbers further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Valeri Diego in the 59th minute.

Portland Timbers climbed to 7th place with 47 points from 31 games, tie on points with Sporting Kansas City, which has two games in hand.
