MLS : San Jose beats Portland 2-1

UNITED STATES, Sep. 30, 2017 (AMP) — MLS: After losing 4-0 to DC United on September 27 and 1-4 to Chicago Fire on September 27, the Quakes bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Portland Timbers this Saturday.

San Jose Earthquakes dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Qazaishvili Valeri in the 16th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Quakes further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Hoesen Danny in the 49th minute.

Portland Timbers are down in 9th place with 47 points from 32 games, tie on points with Seattle Sounders FC, which has a game in hand.
