NUKU'ALOFA, Aug. 31, 2015 (AMP) — Papua New Guinea 2016 (Qualifiers) : The Cook islands defeated Tonga by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 Oceania Nations Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Monday afternoon at the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre in Nuku'alofa.
The result put the Cook Islander top of the group with 3 points. In their next game, the Cook islands will meet Samoa at the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre on September 2, while Tonga will face the American Samoa.
