NUKU'ALOFA, Sep. 2, 2015 (AMP) — Papua New Guinea 2016 (Qualifiers) : The American Samoa defeated Tonga by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2016 Oceania Nations Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday afternoon at the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre in Nuku'alofa.
The result put the Samoans second in the group with 3 points. Tonga is bottom with no points. In their last game, the American Samoa will meet group leaders the Cook islands at the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre on September 4, while Tonga will face Samoa.
