OSLO, Jun. 24, 1953 (AMP) — Switzerland 54 (Qualifiers) : The Saar defeated Norway by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-2), in a qualifying game for the 1954 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

The result put the Saar top of Group 1 with 2 points. In their next game, the Saar will meet Germany on October 11, while Norway will face Germany.
