Germany beats France to reach World Cup final
GUADALAJARA, Jun. 25, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Germany reached the FIFA World Cup final for the fifth time in their history with a 2-0 win against France (halftime: 1-0) on Wednesday at the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara.
Germany dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Andreas Brehme in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Völler with one minute left in regular time.
