SAN CRISTOBAL, May. 26, 1985 (AMP) — Mexico 86 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Venezuela by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 1986 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Argentine top of Group 1 with 2 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet second-placed Colombia on June 2, while Venezuela will face Peru.
