IBADAN, Jun. 10, 1989 (AMP) — Italy 90 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Cameroon by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

The result put the Nigerians top of Group C with 5 points. Cameroon is second with 3 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet Gabon on June 25, while Cameroon will face Angola.
