LUSAKA, Jan. 22, 1989 (AMP) — Italy 90 (African Qualifiers) : Zambia defeated DR Congo by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Zambians top of Group D with 2 points. DR Congo is second with 2 points. In their next game, Zambia will meet Tunisia on June 11, while DR Congo will face Morocco.
