LUSAKA, Jun. 25, 1989 (AMP) — Italy 90 (African Qualifiers) : Zambia defeated Morocco by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Zambians top of Group D with 6 points. Morocco is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, Zambia will meet third-placed DR Congo on August 13, while Morocco will face Tunisia.
