Denmark beats Nigeria to reach World Cup quarterfinals
SAINT DENIS, Jun. 28, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Denmark qualified to the quarter-finals of the 1998 FIFA World Cup with a 4-1 win against Nigeria (halftime: 2-0) on Sunday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Denmark dominated the first half thanks to goals from Møller ('3) and Laudrup ('12). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Danes further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Sand '60 and Helveg '76).
