MONTPELLIER, Jun. 29, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Germany qualified to the quarter-finals of the 1998 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 win against Mexico (halftime: 0-0) on Monday afternoon at the Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Klinsmann ('74) and Bierhoff ('86).
