Brazil beats Denmark to advance to World Cup semifinals
NANTES, Jul. 3, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Brazil reached the semifinals of the 1998 FIFA World Cup with a 3-2 win against Denmark (halftime: 2-1) on Friday night at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
Rivaldo scored dual goals
Denmark opened the score in the score in the 2nd minute thanks to Martin Jørgensen, before Brazil regained the advantage with Bebeto ('10) and Rivaldo ('25). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Rivaldo in the 59th minute.
