France beats Croatia to reach World Cup final
SAINT DENIS, Jul. 8, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : France reached the FIFA World Cup final for the very first time in their history with a 2-1 win against Croatia (halftime: 0-0) on Wednesday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Lilian Thuram scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with two goals by French defender Lilian Thuram at '47 and '70.
