BANJUL, Jun. 1, 1996 (AMP) — France 98 (African Qualifiers) : Gambia defeated Liberia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in the first leg of a qualifying game on Saturday afternoon. Liberia, who lost the first leg (1-2), advance to the next round of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The second leg between Gambia and Liberia will be played on Sunday June 23, 1996 (kick-off: 15:00) in Accra.
