LUANDA, Apr. 6, 1997 (AMP) — France 98 (African Qualifiers) : Angola defeated Togo by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 1998 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Angolans top of Group 4 with 7 points. Togo is bottom with no points. In their next game, Angola will meet third-placed Zimbabwe on April 27, while Togo will face Cameroon.
