BARRANQUILLA, Feb. 12, 1997 (AMP) — France 98 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Colombia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1998 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Colombians top of the group with 17 points. Argentina is third with 13 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet second-placed Paraguay on April 2, while Argentina will face Bolivia.
