ESCHEN, Nov. 9, 1996 (AMP) — France 98 (European Qualifiers) : Macedonia defeated Liechtenstein by a big score of 11-1 (halftime: 6-0), in a qualifying game for the 1998 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Macedonians top of Group 8 with 7 points. Liechtenstein is bottom with no points. In their next game, Macedonia will meet third-placed Romania on December 14, while Liechtenstein will face Romania.
