DAEJEON, Jun. 9, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Vietnam by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the Koreans top of Group 7 with 7 points. Vietnam is second with 3 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet second-placed Vietnam on September 8, while Vietnam will face South Korea.
