MALé, Sep. 8, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (Asian Qualifiers) : Lebanon defeated the Maldives by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Lebanese top of Group 7 with 9 points. The Maldives is bottom with one point. In their next game, Lebanon will meet second-placed South Korea on October 13, while the Maldives will face Vietnam.
