HO CHI MINH CITY, Sep. 8, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Vietnam by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.

The result put the Koreans top of Group 7 with 10 points. Vietnam is third with 3 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet second-placed Lebanon on October 13, while Vietnam will face the Maldives.
