ASHGABAT, Feb. 18, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (Asian Qualifiers) : Turkmenistan defeated Sri Lanka by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.
The result put the Turkmens top of Group 8 with 3 points. In their next game, Turkmenistan will meet Indonesia on March 31, while Sri Lanka will face Saudi Arabia.
