COLOMBO, Mar. 31, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (Asian Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia defeated Sri Lanka by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the Saudi top of Group 8 with 6 points. Sri Lanka is bottom with no points. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet second-placed Turkmenistan on June 9, while Sri Lanka will face Indonesia.
