PRAIA, Jun. 7, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (African Qualifiers) : Cape Verde defeated Tanzania by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Cape Verdeans second in Group 1 with 3 points. Tanzania is bottom with one point. In their next game, Cape Verde will meet third-placed Mauritius on June 15, while Tanzania will face Cameroon.
