ABUJA, Jun. 1, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated South Africa by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The result put the Nigerians top of Group 4 with 3 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet third-placed Sierra Leone on June 7, while South Africa will face Equatorial Guinea.
