FREETOWN, Jun. 7, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Sierra Leone by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The result put the Nigerians top of Group 4 with 6 points. Sierra Leone is bottom with no points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet third-placed Equatorial Guinea on June 15, while Sierra Leone will face South Africa.
