PORT ELIZABETH, Sep. 6, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated South Africa by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The result put the Nigerians top of Group 4 with 15 points. South Africa is second with 4 points. In their last game, Nigeria will meet third-placed Sierra Leone on October 11, while South Africa will face Equatorial Guinea.
