World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Malaysia draw 1-1 with East Timor
KUALA LUMPUR, Jun. 11, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Malaysia tied 1-1 with East Timor (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
The Malaysians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Safee in the 34th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by East Timor with a saving goal from Saro in the 90th minute.
The result left both teams on top of Group A with one point. In their next game, East Timor will meet the United Arab Emirates at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on June 16, while Malaysia will face Palestine.
