SHAH ALAM, Jun. 16, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : The United Arab Emirates defeated East Timor by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Shah Alam Stadium.
45 minutes of play and neither the Emiratis nor the East Timoreses have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by O. Abdulrahman with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Emirati second in Group A with 3 points. East Timor is fourth with one point. In their next game, the United Arab Emirates will meet third-placed Malaysia at the Shah Alam Stadium on September 3, while East Timor will face Saudi Arabia.
