World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : UAE beats East Timor 8-0
ABU DHABI, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : The United Arab Emirates defeated East Timor by a big score of 8-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Ahmed Khalil served up another goal feast
The United Arab Emirates dominated the first half thanks to goals from Mabkhout ('15, '19) and Khalil ('43). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Emiratis further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Khalil '53/penalty, '56, '57, Mousa '54 and Al Hashmi '87).
The result put the Emirati second in Group A with 10 points. East Timor is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, the United Arab Emirates will meet Malaysia at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium on November 17, while East Timor will face Saudi Arabia.
